Job Description
Background
A local Non-Governmental Organisation is looking for the services of a Small-Medium sized local Construction company, with proved experience and traceable references to construct the Superstructure of the Office and Conference Facility for the organisation. The facility will be a two-story building.
Duties and Responsibilities
Scope of Work
The following are the specific terms of reference and scope of work for the construction project:
1. Work closely with the client’s team in understanding the approved building design and plans.
2. Help the client in procurement and acquisition of quality materials for construction purposes
3. Construct superstructure of the Office and Conference Facility under the supervision of a designated Project Manager appointed by the client.
4. Submit a detailed Method statement together with the quotation
5. Submit a detailed Gantt Chart with the quotation
6. Submit a detailed Quality Management (ISO) system together with the quotation
7. Submit a detailed Safety Management (ISO) system together with the quotation
8. Submit a detailed Quality Management (ISO) system together with the quotation
9. Submit a detailed Health and Environmental Management (ISO) system together with the quotation
10. The cost should include labour and equipment only , the client will purchase all materials
11.For any activity that the contractor may notice to have been missed during the preparation of the supplied BoQs which may have material effect on the execution and completion of the works, prepare a separate quote for that with summary notes
11. Submit a compulsory site visit certificate together with the quotation ( You are invited to site viewing )
12. Submit a detailed List of the following together with the quotation:
✓ Equipment
✓ Tools
✓ Accessories
13. The successful applicant will be required to ensure compliance with all local authority and national construction standards and statutory requirements. NB. This a fixed term and price contract and no variations will be allowed unless proven very necessary or and omission on the part of the client or design feature. `
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications
The following are the required qualifications and experience for the small-medium scale construction company:
1. Knowledge of modern high-quality building standards, designs and construction material use and application
2. Demonstratable and proven experience, with traceable references, in construction of multi story buildings or infrastructure in Harare
3. Ability to timely deliver on the project and to meet set targets
4. Over 15 years’ experience of key staff or personnel of the company in construction, building design, architecture and construction.
