Job Description

We are a Grade-A multidisciplinary Private Hospital whose purpose is to inspire healthier communities by providing a wide range of specialist healthcare services underpinned by outstanding nursing care to achieve good clinical outcomes. A Technical Services Manager position to lead the technical team in delivering the best practices and support in the areas of maintenance of our Hospital, has arisen.
Technical Services Manager (Biomedical Engineer)

Duties and Responsibilities

The Role
Oversee planning for preventive, routine, reactive and progressive maintenance activities.
• Prepares maintenance schedule from the organization's asset register and facilities inventory management.
• Leads and manages a team of engineers and technicians to ensure corrective/repair works are done according to regulations and maintenance schedule.
• Ensures safe working practices, quality standard conformity, and best practice methods.
• Organizes subcontractors, requests quotations, and ensures the completion of logbooks and job cards
• Creates and reviews reports, conducts client meetings, and updates the General Manager regularly.
• Liaise with client representatives for corrective repair works and issues permits to work.
• Ensures high client satisfaction, supports account leadership, and drives local initiatives.
• Ensures efficient operation of facility engineering activities to meet contractual obligations.
• Manages the professional development of all technical personnel, healthcare specialists and equipment users.
• Prepares and implements a succession plan for each engineering services key position across the department in MIL.
• Liaises with users on scheduled downtime and service period.
• Allocates spares and ensures efficient use of resources.
• Obtains service reports and job cards from both internal and external service providers.
• Determines, maintains, and provides facilities and associated resources to conform to MIL stated offerings.
• Allocates and manages departmental tasks.
• Enforces adherence to code of conduct, policies, engineering standards and SOPs.
Assesses departmental training needs.
• Prepares maintenance budget for facilities and equipment for the financial year.
Advise the finance and procurement department on procurement of spares and equipment.
• Ensures commissioning of equipment is according to the SOP.
• Liaise with the service provider of equipment on placement and ensure the equipment is safe to use and serviced.

Qualifications and Experience

The Person
A performance driven individual with the following minimum qualifications and attributes, is sought:
: Bachelors degree biomedical/Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.,
Membership of Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers and Engineering Council of Zimbabwe is an added advantage.
Experience in facilities maintenance and healthcare equipment maintenance
Proven 10 years' working experience with at least 5 in a senior managerial role is required.
Strong time management, project management and organizational skills.
Able to provide clear and concise instructions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
