The Standards Association of Zimbabwe (SAZ) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Technical Officer in the Chemical & Foods Technology Division. The purpose of the job is to conduct analytical testing of raw materials, ingredients, and finished products while ensuring accurate results, maintaining the ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory management system, and supporting method development, quality assurance, and standards development activities.
Prepare and analyze samples (raw materials, ingredients, and finished products).
• Develop and validate analytical test methods.
• Implement and maintain the ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory management system.
• Compile accurate and timely test reports.
• Participate in inter-laboratory comparison tests and proficiency testing.
• Contribute to standards development activities.
• Maintain and update analytical standards, reference methods, and technical literature.
• National Diploma in Chemistry, Food Science, or Biochemistry (Degree is an added advantage).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in testing laboratory.
• Proficient in operating and maintaining analytical instruments (HPLC, GC-MS, ICP-OES, FT-NIR, Textile instruments).
• Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and ISO/IEC 17025 is an added advantage
• Experience in analytical method development and validation.
• Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Computer literate with good communication skills.
