Job Description
Windmill (Pvt.) Ltd is a leading manufacturer of fertilizers and agro-chemical products and is a household name throughout Zimbabwe. A position of Technical Buyer has arisen.
Reporting to the Technical Purchasing Manager, the key performance areas of this position will include
Excellent analytical, problem solving, planning, organizational and communication skills are all essential.
Duties and Responsibilities
MAJOR ACTIVITIES
• To locally purchase all Maintenance Stores items and spare parts. • Ensure that all purchase requisitions are authorized by correct signatories • For every purchase, to obtain a minimum of three quotations (except for sole suppliers and select where to buy in terms of price, availability and quality). • Negotiate with suppliers on price, delivery and quantity discounts • Ensures that all items send for repair are returned in time • Responsible for reporting and taking corrective measures on potential health and safety hazards at work place. • Participates in the SHEQ programme as a project team member • Attends SHEQ talks at which SHEQMS is a permanent agenda
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should posses the following:
• An appropriate tertiary qualification such as National Diploma in Purchasing and Supplying is a prerequisite. Knowledge of ISO 14001:2015, ISO 9001:2015 and .0 4.1:2018. • Bea results-driven achiever with a commitment to excellence and with high levels of energy, • At least 2 years of proven work experience in a technical buying environment a must. • Class 4 driver's licence is an added advantage
