driven Tech Intern. We believe in leveraging technology for social change and civic innovation, and this
internship provides a unique opportunity to work on civic tech solutions, digital storytelling, and online
advocacy. The Tech Intern will support the development and maintenance of web applications, assist with
IT support, and contribute to creative digital projects. This role is ideal for a tech-savvy young person eager
to gain hands-on experience in coding, digital security, and civic technology in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Job Description
Technical Development & Support
• Assist in the development, maintenance, and optimization of web and mobile applications.
• Work with programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, HTML and CSS.
• Support the development of civic tech tools, dashboards, and interactive digital platforms.
• Troubleshoot and debug technical issues across web platforms and applications.
• Assist in managing cloud services and hosting environments.
• Conduct regular software updates, patches, and security fixes.
Civic Tech & Innovation
• Assist in researching and prototyping new digital tools to support freedom of expression,
transparency, and social justice.
• Participate in hackathons, digital campaigns, and collaborative tech projects.
• Support the implementation of AI-driven projects, including data analysis and automation.
IT & Digital Security
• Provide basic IT support to organization staff and projects.
• Help in setting up secure communication channels and promoting best practices in digital security.
Project Support & Collaboration
• Support the coordination of tech-related events, workshops, and trainings.
• Work closely with the creative and civic tech teams to integrate technology into advocacy campaigns.
• Assist with documentation of tech projects, including writing reports and user guides.
Qualifications and Experience
Education & Experience
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information
Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with at least one programming language (JavaScript, Python, PHP, etc.
