Team Leader - Policy, Research and Advocacy: Transparency International Zimbabwe (TI Z)

Transparency International Zimbabwe (TI Z) - a non-profit, non-partisan, systems oriented local chapter of the international movement against corruption seeks to recruit a Team Leader: Policy, Research and Advocacy based in Harare. Under the overall guidance of the Executive Director, the incumbent will be responsible for:

Duties and Responsibilities

Programme Coordination
Lead in the development, planning and monitoring of the execution of the activities within TI Z’s programme units; Together with the finance office and monitoring and evaluation office, develop and monitor the annual budget for all programmatic activities; Develop and effectively manage programmes timelines to ensure timely completion of program deliverables; Coordinate the day to day operations of the programmes team in consultation with the Executive Director; Monitor and provide quality control in the delivery of the programme activities; Ensure regular quality and timely reporting and documentation of project/ programme reports, working together with the M and E office; Promote knowledge sharing and knowledge management among the programmes team

Policy Driven Research and Knowledge Generation
Lead TI Z’s research agenda by identifying emerging policy trends that require the organisations research and policy interventions; Manage TI Z’s research projects to inform the advocacy agenda; Coordinate the communication of TI Z’s research and knowledge products to internal and external stakeholders using the appropriate medium; Ensure quality control of all TI Z’s research and policy publications.

The incumbent will also be expected to participate in the organisation's fund raising through developing concept notes and proposals with the Executive Director.

Qualifications and Experience

Knowledge, experience and skills
Masters’ degree or equivalent, preferably in economics, law, political science, economics, development studies or another relevant field; At least seven years of relevant work experience in the fields of anti-corruption, human rights or good governance, with at least 3 years in a program management or programme coordinating role; Strong interest and experience in policy research, advocacy and knowledge generation; Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and maintain a professional approach; Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as an individual and as part of a team in a multicultural environment; Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills in a range of contexts and with actors from the private sector, government and civil society; Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills; IT proficiency; Commitment to the values and goals of Transparency International Zimbabwe.
