Duties and Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of the Education Sector Head of Unit and the Programme Specialist, the incumbent will provide support in the implementation of the COVID-19 response under the LearningNeverStops #: COVID-19 Accelerated Funding for the Education Sector in Zimbabwe and in particular:

Coordinate the development and implementation of a rapid training programme for in-service teachers. The training will provide in-service teachers with knowledge and skills needed to select remote learning options and design courses in a very short time. The training program will be comprise three modules on 1. Learning Management Systems; 2. Planning lessons for remote learning, 3. Distance Learning through Radio.

In particular, the consultant should

Refine the three module training programme and develop a detailed agenda with training partners
Identify and engage tutors and teachers to participate in the training
Organise training sessions
Support partners with the facilitation of the training

Qualifications and Experience

Output

A training programme including an agenda, detailed description and agreements with partners
At least six training sessions organised and conducted and reports prepared
At least 1000 teachers trained under the rapid training programme

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: An Advanced University degree (equivalent to Masters) in Education and/or Social Sciences/Education background

Skills: Programme coordination skills and experience in teacher training
