ROLE PROFILE
AFC Commercial Bank, a subsidiary of AFC Holdings, seeks to recruit a Tax Manager to join the Finance Division. Reporting to the Head
- Finance, the Tax Manager will be responsible for the taxation and regulatory issues ensuring full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and reporting frameworks across AFC Holdings and its subsidiaries.
Duties and Responsibilities
o Leading tax compliance across all entities, covering Corporate Tax, VAT, PAYE, Withholding Taxes, IMTT, and other statutory obligations.
• Preparing and reviewing tax submissions including Quarterly Payment Dates (QPDs), annual income tax computations/returns, and deferred tax computations under IAS12.
Engaging with ZIMRA on audits, queries, assessments, dispute resolution, and appeals.
• Driving tax optimisation and planning strategies within legal frameworks to enhance efficiency.
o Overseeing transfer pricing compliance, including documentation, intercompany pricing policies, and alignment with OECD and local regulations.
Monitoring legislative changes and advising management on tax implications, risks, and opportunities.
o Supporting financial reporting by reconciling tax accounts, maintaining tax files for audits, and providing input into tax provisions.
o Developing tax governance frameworks.
Job Skills and Competencies
• In-depth technical knowledge of Zimbabwean tax laws.
• Advanced expertise in tax computation and strategic tax planning.
• Strong stakeholder management skills for engaging with regulatory bodies and senior management.
• High level of analytical rigor and problem-solving capability.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
• Professional Tax qualification (e.g. CTA, ADIT, or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in tax compliance and advisory preferably in a financial institution.
