Job Description

To manage the activity of quality assurance within the Bank by developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the Bank’s products and production processes.
To implement and manage a robust Quality Assurance framework for the Bank's products for quality control and compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Main Focus Areas
Quality Assurance life cycle
▪ Oversees the activity of the quality assurance staff
▪ Monitors and manages all operations that affect product and service quality
▪ Designs measures to improve and correct the quality of the Bank’s final products and processes in order to meet the Bank’s standards
▪ Plans and implements strategies for quality management and testing
▪ Coordinates and participates in product testing processes.
▪ Maintains compliance with national and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
▪ Assures the reliability and consistency of products and services by checking processes and final output

Project life cycle
▪ Appraises customers’ requirements and make sure they are satisfied
▪ Supervises and guides business and technical testers in the project testing phase of a product or service
▪ Facilitates proactive solutions by collecting and analysing quality data from complaints and non-conformance issues
▪ Reports all major product malfunctions and non-conformance issues to management to ensure immediate action
▪ Ensures that all products and services go through inspection and testing before deployment
▪ Works closely with Enterprise Architecture & DevOps Manager in the change release process for new and existing products
▪ Responsible for problem management and/or resolution for issues picked during quality assurance testing on new products /services

Quality Assurance Policy and Procedure life cycle
▪ Evaluates, develops, interprets, and implements quality assurance policies and standards
▪ Oversees audits conducted by external and internal providers
▪ Assures ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
▪ Manages risk-management procedures for new and existing products and services
▪ Reviews client, customer, and user feedback to make recommendations for product/service/process improvement
▪ Provides corrective action to system testing issues / non-conformances and advises on all permanent issue resolution
▪ Manages testing activities for all Bank systems, products, and services
▪ Prepares test acceptance documents with stakeholders
▪ Manages adherence to approved quality standards with various stakeholders.
▪ Ensures that products and services are inspected and tested in line with industry best practice

Training, Communication & Documentation management
▪ Identifies training needs and takes action to ensure company-wide compliance
▪ Trains, motivates, coaches, and corrects employees to ensure that standards are met.
▪ Prepares reports to communicate results of quality inspection activities to management
▪ Communicates quality standards and parameters to QA team, product development team, and other appropriate staff
▪ Prepares and retains quality reports, statistical reviews, and relevant documentation
▪ Ensures the provision of adhoc system testing and quality reports as and when required

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Work Experience
▪ Honours Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems
▪ At least 2 certifications in Quality Assurance
▪ Training in Six Sigma, Quality Improvement associate, quality auditor, and quality engineer desirable
▪ Five (5) years’ experience in Software Development and/or Software development quality assurance and testing management, two of which were at managerial or supervisor level.

Job Related Knowledge

Knowledge and Experience in supporting and managing the following:
• Software Development Systems
• Project management team
• Quality assurance team
• Understanding of key standards and protocols including ISO 8583, REST, SOAP
• Business Support
• Internet and Mobile banking systems
• Business Analysis tools and software.
• Collaboration tool – JIRA, confluence, UML, Sketch
