Zimbabwe Centre for High Performance Computing (ZCHPC), established under Statutory Instrument 168 of 2019, is seeking a talented and motivated Systems Technician to join our team.
Role Summary:
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and supporting high-performance computing (HPC) systems, ensuring optimal operation of hardware, software, and infrastructure critical to advanced research and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the installation, configuration, monitoring and maintenance of HPC hardware and software.
• Provide technical support to clients, research teams and resident innovators.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures and updates.
• Support the development and implementation of backup and recovery procedures.
• Assist in the installation, monitoring and maintenance of electrical systems.
• Participate in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
• Ensure the workspace is clean, safe and orderly.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum Qualification: National Certificate in Electrical Power, Information Technology, Telecommunication, Air-conditioning or Electronics.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience, preferably at a research institute.
