Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the Systems Resource Person position that has arisen at The Cotton Company of Zimbabwe- COTTCO.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Carries out backups for the company’s systems according to the MIS procedure.
• Creates user accounts and grants the appropriate level of privileges.
• Maintains accurate records of IT assets, both hardware and software.
• Basic systems maintenance and administration of networks, hardware and software.
• Ensures security of computer systems and enforces user compliance with IT Security Policy.
• Reports, logs and follows up on all unresolved system problems as per MIS procedure.
• Ensures that users capture and validate data completely and on time.
• Effects business unit system updates as per IT Policy.
• Relays feedback from users for continued growth of the systems.
• Ensures systems are put to maximum use eliminating all unwarranted manual interventions of all relevant facilities incorporated in the systems.
• Offers technical user support and promotes good practices in use of computer systems.
• Reviews and updates application user manuals in line with system updates.
• Continuously reviews reports for accuracy, completeness and consistency in liaison with the accountants.
• Ensures that business unit seed cotton and farmgate receipts are captured in system on time.
• Generates monthly and ad-hoc reports for management accounts and control.
• Submits to MIS Head Office all necessary reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
Qualifications and Experience
• Diploma in Information Systems or any IT related qualification equivalent.
• Experience in Systems Administration on Windows environment, Linux & networking
• 1 year working experience in IT related field.
• Highly computer literate with capability MS Office and related business and communication tools.
