Job Description
Smelting/ Furnace Operator wanted
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates Bench Top Smelter/ Furnace to
heat mixture of Concentrate and Borax, 2:1 volume at 1200 degrees for approximately one hour intervals
- Extracts free gold via tongs and 0.5kg slag mould on Crucible Tray
- Maintains temperature controls within specified limits
- Completes routine maintenance as per guidance from instruction manual
- Completes log sheets for maintenance of Smelter
- Records time and production data
- Observes best practice safety standards in administering furnace and gold extraction
Qualifications and Experience
Requirements: 3 + years experience operating and maintaining a smelter in a mining environment
