Job Description
SHE Officer will implement and maintain awareness programs relating to safety, health and environment at the site and ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental requirements
Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversee SHE activities in liason with the client and Site Manager.
• Implements and formulates SHE Policy.
• Ensures compliance with the relevant statutes e.g .NSSA Act, EMA.
• SHE induction training for site employees.
• Enforces risk assessments.
• Projects safety management.
• Job safety analysis.
• Safety inspections.
• Carry out routine safety training.
• Coordinates safety meetings.
• Documents and control documents.
• Come up with SHE reports.
• Supervision of SHE Assistant and or HER Representatives.
• Health and Safety reports
Qualifications and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in Geography and Environment science or an associate degree.
Registration as a Health and Safety Officer.
In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and procedures
Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus outstanding organizational skills
