Job Description
The position of Senior Technologist has arisen within the National Biotechnology Authority, and we hereby invite applications from suitably qualified individuals.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Responsible for conducting research in specific areas
(agricultural, industrial, medical and environmental
biotechnology.
•Assist in developing and writing manuscripts for scientific
journals and abstracts for scientific meetings.
•Assist with the grant proposals submission process and
reporting, managing software and files for maintaining research
materials.
•Planning, monitoring and evaluation of genomics technological
projects.
•Optimisation of genomics technological methods to ensure cost
effectiveness and sustainability.
•Adoption of technological methodologies suitable in the country.
•Perform any other duties assigned by the Research Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
•Studying towards a PhD in Biochemistry / Biotechnology.
•Masters in Biochemistry or any relevant Biotechnology field.
•Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry or any other related field.
•At least 2 years related experience.
•Experience in developing, designing and conducting research
projects.
•Experience in product development, analytical quality control
and quality assurance.
•Scientific publications are an added advantage.
•Computer literacy and working knowledge of bioinformatics and
statistics software such as STATA, R, SPSS etc.
•Excellent critical thinking, multitasking, teamwork, written and
verbal communication skills.
•Must be highly organised.
