AHF is an international humanitarian organization operating in Zimbabwe, collaborating with the Government through Ministry of Health and Child Care as well as local authorities in managing HIV programs. AHF is looking for a qualified and experienced candidate to fill in the position of Senior Finance Officer in its country program. The successful candidate will be based at the country office in Harare.
The Senior Finance Officer plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the programs, ensures compliance and enhancement of internal and financial controls, budget preparation and monitoring. The position reports to the Country Program Director with a dotted line to the Regional Finance Manager- Southern Africa for technical issues.
1. Prepare annual budgets including Capital Budget, Operational budget and Head Count budget.
2. Monitor budget implementations and carry out variance analysis
3. Manage the Finance department and train Program Teams on Budgets and Finance Management Policies and Procedures
4. Prepare weekly and monthly cash projections and submit to Global Finance.
5. Review all procurement documents and ensure charging of costs to correct account codes and cost centers
6. Certify payments in ERP after checking compliance to AHF procurement policies.
7. Prepare RAP before submitting to accounting firm for review.
8. Ensure that all vouchers are approved by the respective authorizer before forwarding to Accounting Firm.
9. Prepare monthly Journal entries and share with Accounting Firm
10. Maintain proper filing system for all financial documents.
11. Dispatching of POP confirmations to respective vendors/recipients.
12. Review monthly financial reports from Accounting Firm before submitted to AHF Global Finance.
13. Coordinate inventory count twice a year i.e June and December.
14. Manage and report on petty cash usage by all Facilities.
15. Conduct monthly fuel reconciliation and internal usage reports.
16. Prepare and submit any budget relocation requests to the Bureau Chief for approval.
17. Maintain good relations with key stakeholders like Accounting Firm, Bank, ZIMRA, NSSA and any partner working with AHF
18. Any other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor
University degree in Accounting or Commerce, Professional qualification like ACCA, CIS
Master’s degree in finance or equivalent is an added advantage
Minimum of 4 years working experience.
NGO experience is an added advantage
Excellent computer skills esp. Excel spreadsheets and Ms Word; Experience in usage of any Accounting Software.
