Job Description

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Estimator/Tender Administrator to join their team in Harare. Our client is an Electrical & Mechanical Engineering company specializing in delivering high-quality projects across various sectors. Duties and Responsibilities

As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in overseeing cost estimation for projects, ensuring clients receive accurate and timely quotes. You will be responsible for preparing detailed tender documents, cost estimates, evaluating tender documents, and submitting compliant bids. Your expertise will help achieve cost-effective, high-quality outcomes, contributing to the company's success.
• Review tender documentation and project specifications to prepare accurate and detailed tender responses and cost estimates.
• Lead the estimation process from initial inquiry through to project completion.
• Coordinate with the project team, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather relevant data for accurate pricing.
• Prepare and manage detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and take-off quantities.
• Ensure estimates reflect tender/project scope, timelines, and budget considerations.
• Analyze project risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Manage and mentor trainee estimators, offering guidance and support to develop their skills.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project success.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and key stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as an Senior Estimator in the consultancy, electrical services or construction industry, with a focus on medium to large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of cost estimation, tendering processes, and electrical construction methods.
• Experience of Pricing Works
• Proficient in estimation software and MS Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• A relevant degree or professional qualification related to Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is desirable.
• A clean class 4 drivers licence.
