SENIOR DATA ENGINEER
Zimworx is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and manage enterprise data infrastructure across Azure and AWS environments. The ideal candidate will develop scalable pipelines, enable advanced analytics with Power Bl, and ensure data governance, security, and performance across hybrid environments. This role is highly collaborative, working closely with Data Architects, Analysts, and Data Scientists to transform raw data into actionable insights and support next-generation Al/ML initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines for batch and real-time processing.
• Build and maintain data models, warehouses, OLTP/OLAP systems, and data lakes across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Deliver advanced Power BI solutions including dashboards, semantic models, and DAX measures to enable self-service analytics and executive reporting.
•Implement data governance, quality standards, and security best practices to ensure integrity, compliance, and privacy.
• Optimize query performance, data storage, and cost efficiency across platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, and Athena.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights, supporting strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with Data Architects, Analysts, and Scientists to support Al/ML and advanced analytics projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and advocate for data engineering best practices across teams.
Qualifications and Experience
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, modeling, and architecture.
• Strong expertise in SQL with hands-on experience in PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Microsoft Fabric.
• Proven experience building pipelines with Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Pentaho, or stream-processing tools.
• Advanced knowledge of OLAP vs. OLT modeling, data warehousing, and real-time ingestion.
• Hands-on experience with Azure (Fabric, Synapse, Data Lake) and AWS (RDS PostgreSQL, Redshift, S3, Athena, Kinesis).
• Proficiency in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, Power Query, dashboards).
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to transform raw data into actionable insights.
