Job Description
We are recruiting, on behalf of our client in the manufacturing sector, a Senior Accountant or Finance Manager to oversee all financial aspects of the business. This role requires a seasoned and proactive finance professional with a strong command of financial controls, taxation, reporting, and manufacturing inventory systems.
The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with analytical thinking, creativity in financial management, and a hands-on leadership style that supports continuous improvement and strong compliance practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee financial operations including planning, budgeting, and reporting.
• Prepare and review accurate financial statements in line with IFRS standards.
• Manage all tax heads (PAYE, VAT, QPDs, Income Tax) and ensure ZIMRA compliance.
• Maintain strong internal financial controls and ensure adherence to statutory requirements.
• Monitor manufacturing inventory accounting and support cost control initiatives.
• Provide regular financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
• Lead audits and liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
• Supervise and mentor the finance team to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of reports.
• Recommend and implement improvements in financial systems and processes.
Qualifications and Experience
• Aged 30 – 45 years.
• BCom in Accounting or Finance; professional qualifications (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CA) are an added advantage.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a senior finance or accounting role, preferably in manufacturing.
• Familiar with inventory management in a production setting.
• Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to present complex data clearly.
• Solid knowledge of Zimbabwean tax regulations and statutory compliance.
• High level of integrity, discipline, and leadership capability.
