VACANCY NOTICE
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
The following vacancy has arisen within First Mutual Health Services and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill this vacancy.
The Job
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
* Prepare and review monthly management accounts and reporting packs, ensuring compliance with Group reporting requirements and providing meaningful financial analysis to management.
* Prepare the quarterly finance reports, providing insights into financial performance, key risks, trends, and strategic recommendations.
* Manage the monthly financial close process, including the review and finalisation of the general ledger, trial balance, audit files, and all income statement and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Co-ordinate the annual budgeting process, consolidation, review, and variance analysis in line with Cluster EXCO approved assumptions.
* Monitor key financial performance indicators and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions to achieve budgetary and financial targets.
* Prepare and timely submit the IFRS-compliant financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
* Manage external audit engagements, coordinating audit requirements, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring the timely resolution of audit and technical review findings.
* Facilitate internal audit coordination and ensure the implementation and monitoring of corrective actions arising from audit recommendations.
* Review the maintenance of the fixed asset register, ensuring the accurate recording of acquisitions, disposals, transfers, impairments, and depreciation in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
* Ensure full compliance with all statutory and tax obligations and other regulatory requirements.
* Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management to the Assistant Accountants.
* Implement the company’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and sustainable growth.
* Ensure that up to date standard operating procedures (SOPs) are maintained for all processes relevant in the Finance Department.
* Coordinate finance related projects for example reporting system change, integrations or updates.
Qualifications and Experience
The Person
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
* Must be a recently qualified CIMA, CA, ACCA.
* Strong leadership and people management ability with a proven track record in delivering performance in a leadership role.
* Honed appreciation of financial management and cost accounting principles and IFRS.
* Experience working in the health sector.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
