Job Description
A medium size gold mining company is seeking to fill the following vacant positions which are immediately available.
- Section Engineer - Mechanical
Duties and Responsibilities
• Installation, commissioning and maintenance of mine equipment such as hoists, compressors, processing plants and mobile equipment
• Ensuring that mine equipment (both surface and underground) is maintained to required standard and that planned equipment availabilities are consistently achieved
• Enforcing compliance with statutory regulations
• Promoting safe working practices and ensuring safe working conditions for all personnel
Qualifications and Experience
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Membership with Engineering Professional body and registration with Engineering Council of Zimbabwe
• At least 5 years post learnership experience in a mining environment of which 3 years should have been at Engineer level
• Knowledge and experience in the maintenance of mining equipment such as hoists, compressors, processing plants and mobile equipment
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver excellent results
• Sound working knowledge of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management Systems
