Job Description

Project: Sustainable Production and Commercialization of African Indigenous Vegetables
Background
Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology is inviting applications for one (1 ) MPhil and five (5) DPhil positions in the framework of the research project "Sustainable Production and Commercialization of African Indigenous Vegetables".

Duties and Responsibilities

The project is funded by the Government of Zimbabwe through the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development.

Qualifications and Experience

Available scholarships
3-year scholarships (5 positions)
1. DPhil Plant Breeding/Seed Systems
Requirements: MSc/MPhil Crop Science or Plant Breeding. Experience in variety development or crop improvement would be an added advantage
2. DPhil Agronomy
Requirements: MSc/MPhil in Agronomy or Soil Science. Experience in plant nutrition would be an added advantage
3. DPhil Crop Science/Plant Protection
Requirements: MSc/MPhil in Crop Protection or Pathology/Entomology/Weed Science/Botany. Experience in Crop Protection/ Botany would be an added advantage
4. DPhil Animal Science and Technology
Requirements: MSc/MPhil Animal Science or Animal Nutrition. Experience in animal feed formulation would be an added advantage
5. DPhil Food Science and Technology
Requirements: MSc/MPhil in Food Science and Technology or Food Processing Technology. Experience in new food product development would be an added advantage
2-year scholarship (1 position)
MPhil Agribusiness Entrepreneurship and Management
Requirements: BSc (Hans) in Agribusiness or Agricultural Economics or related degree. Work experience in the horticultural sector would be an added advantage
