Job Description
Job Grade: E4 – Reporting to: Director Statistical Services.
Job Purpose
The job holder will be charged with sampling work and coordinating the National Statistical System including statistical development.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Developing a comprehensive departmental work plan in line with the divisions’ annual plan and manage its implementation.
2. Planning, budgeting, monitoring and coordination of all activities in the department
3. Coordinating the National Statistical System working closely with MDAs
4. Coordinating the development and implementation of the National Strategy for Development of Statistics (NSDS).
5. Leading the Statistical development team in generating new business through strategic partnerships with potential new and old clients
6. Provide technical expertise on development of business proposals.
7. Coordinating and supervising sampling processes.
8. Developing and maintaining Master sampling frame
9. Staff mentoring, supervision and performance appraisals
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications, experience, attributes and competences
1. A first degree in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Operations Research and Statistics/Economics/ Social Sciences or equivalent with a quantitative bias.
2. Masters’ degree in Business Administration or equivalent
3. Have at least 5 years working experience as a statistician.
4. Excellent computer skills including use of statistical packages and Microsoft Office
5. Excellent leadership and communication skills
6. Must be a good team leader
7. Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
