Job Description

The Branch Sales Officer is responsible for driving deposit mobilization, loan origination, and the cross-selling of SuccessBank's financial products and services within the designated branch catchment area. The role is a front-line revenue contributor that supports the Bank's strategic pillars of Business Growth and Financial Agility by expanding the active client base, deepening wallet share among existing clients, and delivering a consistent, high-quality customer experience in line with the Bank's People Focus commitment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development
• Achieving monthly and quarterly sales targets for deposits, loans, and digital products uptake as set by the Branch Manager.
• Proactively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through field visits, community activations, referral networks, and market mapping.
• Cross-selling and upselling the full suite of SuccessBank products including savings accounts, term deposits, SME loans, salary-based loans, and mobile/digital banking channels.
• Preparing and presenting tailored product proposals to prospective clients, ensuring suitability and compliance with credit policy.
• Maintaining a live sales pipeline and report progress against targets to the Branch Manager on a weekly basis.
• Recruiting, training and fully supporting Direct Sales Agents as per targets set by the Branch Manager.
Customer Relationship Management
• Building and sustaining long-term relationships with individual, SME, and corporate clients by providing responsive, needs-based service.
• Conducting regular client review calls and branch visits to assess satisfaction levels and identify emerging financial needs.
• Resolving client complaints and service escalations promptly, following the Bank's complaints management procedure, and escalate complex matters appropriately.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records on the Bank's core banking system in accordance with data management protocols.
Loan Origination & Credit Support
• Collecting, verifying, and submitting complete loan application documentation in accordance with the Bank's credit policy and RBZ regulatory requirements.
• Conducting basic client due diligence including site visits for business clients and liaise with the credit team to facilitate timely loan processing.
• Monitoring loan repayment behavior within the assigned portfolio and proactively engage early-stage defaulters in line with the collections strategy.
• Supporting the reduction of the non-performing loan (NPL) ratio by promoting timely repayments and flagging at-risk accounts to the Branch Manager.
Compliance & Risk Management
• Adhering to all Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) requirements as prescribed by the RBZ and the Bank's internal policies.
• Ensuring all client onboarding and product applications are processed accurately and within prescribed turnaround times.
• Maintaining strict confidentiality of client information and complying with the Bank's data protection framework.
• Reporting any suspicious transactions or compliance concerns immediately to the Branch Manager or Compliance Officer.
Digital Transformation Support
• Assisting with championing the adoption of the Bank's digital banking platforms by actively onboarding clients onto mobile and internet banking services.
• Educating clients on the functionality and benefits of digital channels to reduce branch congestion and enhance service convenience.
• Providing feedback to management on client digital adoption barriers and product improvement opportunities.
• Deploying POS machines to clients and monitoring performance.
• Monitoring the performance of deployed POS machines and advising the Branch Manager where there is need to retrieve some due to inactivity.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Finance, Banking, Business Studies, Marketing, Economics, Social Sciences or a related field.
• Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., Institute of Bankers Zimbabwe, CIM) is an added advantage.
Experience
• A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a sales, relationship management, or customer-facing role within a financial services institution.
• Demonstrated experience in deposit mobilization, loan origination, or retail banking is preferred.
