Job Description
Lower Mazowe Sub-Catchment Council is a statutory board which was established according to the regulations in the Water Act Chapter 20:24 of 1998 section 24 as read with SI 47 of 2000 and their amendments where they are mandated to carry out water resources management through stakeholder participation approach.
* NB* The person will be based in Rushinga
Duties and Responsibilities
• River monitoring
• Regulating and supervising the exercise of water permits within the area of jurisdiction
• Catchment protection
• Water development and use licensing
• Conflict resolution and consensus building
• Monitoring water flows and water use in accordance with allocations made under permits
• Mobilizing stakeholder participation
• Revenue collection
• Preparation of financial accounts
• Any other duties assigned
Qualifications and Experience
• 5 “O” level including Mathematics, Science and English
A certificate and or a Diploma in the following fields:
• Civil engineering
• Irrigation Engineering Management
• Lands and Water resources Management
• Natural Resources Management
• A self-starter is needed.
• A clean classs 4 or 3 drivers’ licence is a must have.
