Job Description
This role is accountable for assisting management in the development and embedment of a strong risk, control and compliance environment within the business unit.
Risk Management:
Guides the business on appropriate identification, assessment, management, monitoring and reporting of significant risks.
Ensures that the business develops and implements appropriate risk management procedures and strategies
Facilitates implementation of polices and standard requirements pertaining to risk management
Assists in ensuring that the business unit manages its risks in line with pre-set risk appetite and tolerance thresholds.
Conducts onsite reviews (deep dives) for identified high risk areas in line with the risk management plan.
Coordinates and mines business unit risk data to provide risk intelligence in reports to EXCO, and the Board.
Assists with management of the business unit’s control environment, which encompasses, management of audit issues and resolutions thereof.
Facilitates Training and Awareness on risk, control and compliance topics
Challenges first line on the effectiveness of the risk and control environment
Guides and supports the business on forward-looking risk assessments, such as Stress & Scenario Testing
Advises the business on emerging risks and appropriate business responses
Risk reporting to the business unit management and board committees and to Group Risk
