Job Description
Purpose: To provide borehole drilling and driving services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Job Specifications
• Operate, control and service rig drill and hoisting machinery
• Direct the operation of drilling boreholes
• Check and assemble the equipment necessary for the assigned drilling job
• Ensure that the rig is well serviced and maintained
• Train subordinates on the operation procedure of the rig and general maintenance of the rig
• Be familiar with all relevant work and safety standard procedures and regulations
• Apply and ensure the correct application of prescribed safety standards and regulations
• Report completed job cards, daily drilling reports and incident reports
• Any another duty assigned by supervisor
Qualifications and Experience
Person Specifications
• 2 years working experience in the same field
• Clean Class 2 Driver's License
• Rig Operator Certificate
• Current retest Defensive Driving Certificate
• A supervisory certificate will be an added advantage
• Ability to work within a team and to meet targets
• Excellent leadership skills
• Good communicator
