Job Description
Working from Nectacare Chromes Mines Hospital in Shurugwi, the job is responsible for induction of anesthesia and rendering of nursing services, observing and conforming to all the laws and customs of or affecting the nursing and /or health services profession
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Medical Doctor, the main responsibilities for the Job are: -
• Carries out a full pre-operative assessment of patients.
• Inducts, adequately maintenance, and monitors safe conduct of anesthesia technique.
• Gives injections, drugs, infusions, and transfusions with accurate recording.
• Performs aseptic and preventative measures including adherence to infection prevention and control policy.
• Ensures anesthetic equipment is in good working order.
• Accounting for supplied stocks at the end of each shift.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications:
• Diploma in General Nursing
• Diploma in Anesthesia
• Diploma in Midwifery -an added advantage
• Counselling certificate or diploma will be an added advantage.
• Valid Practicing Certificate from the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe
The Ideal Candidate Must Have:
• 3 years post qualification experience in nursing with experience in administering anesthesia.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Strong client-focus
• Positive attitude with willingness to learn.
• Flexible and adaptable, contributing to a positive team environment.
• Commitment to handling private and confidential information with a high degree of professionalism.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
