Created in 1979, Action contre la Faim is a non-governmental organization that fights against hunger. Its charter of humanitarian principles - independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims,professionalism, and transparency - has been part of its identity for more than 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of under-nutrition, particularly during and afteremergency situations linked to conflicts or natural disasters. Action contre la Faim focuses its actions on 5 main areas ofexpertise: Nutrition and Health – Mental Health and Care Practices, Gender and Protection - Food Security and
Livelihoods – Water, Sanitation and Hygiene – Advocacy. In 2018, Action contre la Faim provided aid to 21 million people in more than 50 countries worldwide. www.actioncontrelafaim.org

ACF has been working in Zimbabwe since 2002 and over the years, has been a key humanitarian actor in the country.
Since 2015, ACF has adopted an intervention strategy focused on localization and capacity development through partnerships, in particular with two national organizations, NAZ (Nutrition Action Zimbabwe) and AA (Africa AHEAD).
ACF has increased the size of its mission in the course of last year to adequately respond to the rising humanitarian needs.
Action Against Hunger is looking to recruit for the position of:
1. Senior MEAL Officer

Duties and Responsibilities


Responsibilities:
As Research Officer, your main responsibilities will be to:
 Conceptualize and design methodologies to address key research questions;
 Draft quantitative and qualitative data collection tools for projects covering a range of subject matters;
 Manage research data collection field teams;
 Analyze qualitative and quantitative data
 Support the quality assurance of research tools, models, and inquiries for collecting and analyzing data for each of the research topics;
 Lead research report writing;
 Communicate with partners on project implementation and timelines, as necessary
 Ensure proper management of the devices used in the field,
 Ensure timely request and drafting of ToRs for field visits working closely with the support departments
 Ensure that liquidations are done timely in line with finance procedures
 Safeguard all ACF tools under your care including laptops and other MEAL tools

Qualifications and Experience

Requested profile:
 Degree and or post graduate qualification in relevant field with prior research experience (MA preferred);
 Experience collecting quantitative or qualitative data will be considered an asset;
 Basic knowledge of SPSS, Stata, or R;
 Experience collaborating with and managing diverse, multi-cultural teams preferred;
 Eagerness to engage in research across a multitude of sectorial areas;
 Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
 Ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines;
 Cultural sensitivity;
 Fluency in written and spoken English.

Desired Qualifications:
 Knowledge and working experience with relevant technical fields such as: Food security and livelihoods, WASH.Bio diversity, Nutrition, Climate, Health
 Experience developing MEAL products for donors, community and international audiences.
 Creative and with dynamic digital experience
