Job summary
This position requires a highly motivated and mature individual. S/he should have the ability to work under minimum supervision and under pressure, initiative, excellent communication and presentation skills, and ability to work with a broad range of research departments and diverse professionals. The incumbent will report to the Study Principal Investigator (PI) or Designate.

This job description is not exhaustive as other duties that are in line with this position may be assigned by the PI or PI designate or Study Coordinator: Explain and administer the consent forms for enrollment; Enrolment of research participants; Ensure environment is conducive for executing clinical research duties ie availability of resources, private, comfortable and clean environment) as required; Gather and verify data from hard copies data sources; Timeous entry of data from paper forms into the study registry; Check for any possible data errors before entry into the system; Timeous entry of data queries; Ensure confidentiality of data before, during and after entry into the system; Ensure data security and safety through compliance with agreed protocols and SOPs including remote backup; File all documents and hard copies used as data sources; Conduct key informant interviews and discussions as and when required as per protocol; Arranging and assisting in study related procedures; Maintain proper documentation of all study procedures; Follow up of research participants; Any other duties that are in line with this position as may be delegated from time-to-time.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications, experience and competencies
Diploma or degree in Nursing; Demonstrated experience in qualitative research (Key informant interviews, focus group discussions); Training in computer packages; Training and experience in REDCap database is mandatory; Proficient skills in Microsoft word and Excel is a necessity; At least 1-year experience in a similar research nurse combined with data abstraction role; Excellent analytical skills; Attention to detail; Experience with HIV or cancer research an advantage.
