Job Description

Research Assistants:
Target Districts: Bindura, Chegutu, Hwange, Kadoma, Kwekwe, Mwenezi, Plumtree, Zvishavane
Research Assistants will support the field implementation of the KAP survey in their respective districts. They will be responsible for administering structured questionnaires to community members, healthcare workers, and faith/traditional healers using digital data collection tools (CSEntry/Android devices), while ensuring ethical conduct, confidentiality, and data quality.

Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct community and facility-based interviews using structured questionnaires. Administer key informant interviews and in-depth interviews as per the study protocol. Ensure informed consent is obtained and ethical guidelines are observed, maintain accurate electronic records and perform daily data uploads, participate in data collector training, pre-testing, and debrief sessions, and collaborate with field supervisors and district health teams to facilitate smooth data collection.

Qualifications and Experience

A minimum of a Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Nursing, Environmental Health, or related fields. Previous experience in field data collection, health surveys, or KAP studies is highly desirable.
Proficiency in using tablets/mobile data collection software (e.g., CSEntry, KoboCollect, ODK), Strong communication skills in English and local languages (Shona/Ndebele), Familiarity and Residency of the target districts are a must, Valid Good Clinical Practice (GCP) or research ethics training certificate.
