Job Description
ECODIT LLC, implementing the USAID Resilience ANCHORS project, invites bidders to submit best-offer quotes for the provision of palisade fencing at seven (7) climate smart agriculture sites in wards 29 and 30 of Chipinge District in accordance with the specifications detailed below. The palisade fence is meant to protect water infrastructure and panels established by the Project for communities in wards 29 and 30 of Chipinge District.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Contractor shall be responsible for the following services which form the Terms of Reference:
Fences:
o Each of the seven fenced areas must be 6m x 6m with a height of at least 2m for 5 sites.
o Each 6m length should have 76/1.6/2mm square tube posts/poles every 2m.
o The fence must be 8m x 8m with a height of at least 2m for 1 site. Each 8m length should have 76/1.6/2mm square tube posts/poles every 2m.
o Each of the 4 corner posts will have steel anchors of size 76/1.6/2mm
o All posts must be level all round and reinforced by concrete.
Gate:
o A swivel gate (swivel to the outside) with an entrance space of at least 1m must be inserted on the side of one panel.
o The gate must be the same height and strength as the fence.
o A tamper proof lock must be added to this quotation for the gate to be securely locked. The lock must have at least 3 keys.
Steel:
o Hot rolled angle iron with hot dip galvanizing, 30 x 30 x 2mm angle iron.
o All steel used for the installation must be galvanized or painted with non-corrosive paint.
Warranty:
o The structure must be guaranteed for a period of at least 2 years.
o The workmanship must be of the highest standard.
• Delivery instructions:
o The delivery and installation will be in wards 29 and 30 of Chipinge District, with the furthest point being about 550km from Harare. The last 60km will be a gravel, dusty road, (i.e. road to Chilo Gorge Safari Lodge and Gonarezhou National Park.)
o The seven locations will be given to the successful supplier upon successful bid.
o All the roads are accessible by a Toyota HiLux (or similar) up to the site where the fence must be installed.
