Established in 1987, Population Services Zimbabwe (PSZ) an affiliate of MSI Reproductive Choices (MSI), is one of the largest organisations in Zimbabwe focusing on providing quality sexual and reproductive health (SRH)/ family planning services. In its
service provision, PSZ compliments the Ministry of Health and Child Care and collaborates with other stakeholders to provide
modern and affordable products and services through various service delivery channels which include

Duties and Responsibilities

The Role
Reporting to the Clinic Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for performing ultrasound procedures. The role will also involve
corresponding with other health professionals to ensure timely and appropriate management of clients in line with MoHCC and
PSZ guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for the following, among other duties:
 Performing ultrasound procedures in line with established clinical standards and protocols.
 Applying ethical and critical thinking skills to perform diagnostic imaging safely and effectively.
 Utilizing appropriate positioning tools and safety equipment to ensure client safety, comfort, and dignity throughout
imaging procedures.
 Reviewing clients’ medical records prior to appointments to ensure a clear understanding of the required imaging
procedures.
 Interpreting ultrasound images, maintaining accurate documentation and records, preparing medical reports, and
presenting preliminary findings to healthcare practitioners.
 Adhering to best medical practices, relevant legislation, and professional ethical standards in the provision of
ultrasound services.
 Developing and implementing strategies aimed at improving the uptake and utilization of ultrasound scan services
within PSZ clinics.
 Facilitating the registration and renewal of registration for PSZ ultrasound facilities and related regulatory
requirements.
 Coordinating stakeholder engagement activities and representing PSZ at relevant meetings and forums.
 Contributing towards the sustainability of ultrasound services and clinic operations through the provision of high-
quality, client-centred services that enhance client satisfaction and service uptake.

Qualifications and Experience

About You
 Degree in Radiography
 Post Graduate diploma in Sonography / Masters of Medical Sonography is an added advantage
 Must be a registered practicing sonographer.
 Registered with the Allied Health Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe.
 Must have an Open Practicing Certificate (OPC).
 Proven computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet).
 2 years’ experience in offering medical ultrasound services.
 A strong client focus with good communication skills.
 Knowledge of transducers and other ultrasound scan equipment.
 Experience working in the at a Premium Private Sector and in a high volume site will be an added advantage
 Clean Drivers 4 license (At least 2 years in operation)
