Duties and Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Take off and prepare Bills of Quantities, Schedules of Works, Materials Schedules, tender documentation.
• Create sub-contractors and materials suppliers database
• Assist in assessing tender documents to ensure sufficient information available to prepare tender.
• Review the subcontractor’s quotation for completeness and prepare comparison for Quantity Surveyor’s approval.
• Prepare materials schedules and gather up quotations from prospective suppliers.
• Assist in initiating site materials requisitions and follow up until final delivery onsite.
• Submit return to relevant authority as assigned by the Quantity Surveyor.
• Assist in undertaking site measurements, preparation of interim valuations.
• Identify, measure and value variations
• Attending project meetings in representation and upon approval of the Quantity Surveyor.
• Effective filing and data capturing of all ongoing activities onsite.
• Project daily diaries and weekly reports.
• Attending site visits and pre-bid meetings in representation and upon approval of the Quantity Surveyor.
• Assist in reviewing procurement routes available for each project to ensure that timescales are maximized.
• Become a main part of the Project team and work alongside the Quantity Surveyor and Site Managers for the betterment of all projects.
• Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications:
Pursuing BSc Quantity Surveying
(Honours) Degree/ Diploma In Quantity Survey
SKILLS
• Methodical way of thinking
• Good listener
• Good knowledge of construction
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Good financial and numeracy management skills
• Excellent communication and negotiating skills
• Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily
• Computer literate
