Quality Controller
Purpose of this position:
Is to manage the day to day on farm implementation of Quality Control standards and ensures that they are adhered to.

Reports to:
The position has a dual reporting structure (Farm Manager-onsite & Certification Manager-offsite)
Location:
The post will be based at Stevia Zimbabwe (formerly Arda Estates), which is located in Mushumbi Pools, Mbire District, Mashonaland Central Province.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Coordinates day to day delivery of a comprehensive system of Good Manufacturing Practice throughout the activities on farm, including processing and storage facilities, based on HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) principles
• Documents farm Quality Control procedures for approval by the Certification Manager and ensures their relevant day to day implementation
• Investigates root causes for non-conformities and customer complaints, follows up and ensures implementation of corrective actions
• Carries out training of staff, including all food handlers against relevant Quality Control procedures
• Introduces work instructions and product specifications from within the packing and storage facilities, communicates these to responsible farm personnel and ensures they are adhered to
• Ensures a continuous cycle of review for improvement
• Any other duties not necessarily mentioned, which are in line with the QC position

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements:
• A minimum of a Certificate or Diploma in Food Science and Technology/Crop Science. A degree in the relevant field will be an add advantage.
• A minimum of 1-year work experience with at least farm environment experience
• High levels of computer literacy

• Ability to multitask and prioritize work
• Ability to be adaptable and flexible
• Good management skills and ability to generate reports and tabulate data (strong excel knowledge
• Assertive and proactive
