Job Description
Job Purpose
Cassava Smartech is looking for a versatile, energetic and dynamic Quality Controller - Soil Testing & Analysis to join the AgriTech Team. The main purpose of the role is to provide daily operational service to the AgriTech soil analysis pillar in order to ensure customer service excellence, process efficiencies, profitability and sustainability of the AgriTech business.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Result Areas
• Develops and implements a laboratory procedures manual for soil analysis and aflatoxin testing for the business,
• Designs and executes laboratory testing according standard procedures, make observations and interpret findings.
• Maintains laboratory equipment performance by establishing quality standards; developing operations, quality, and troubleshooting procedures; ensuring staff compliance;
• Certifies instrument performance in liaison with relevant suppliers and arranges equipment replacement, service, and repair.
• Identifies and implements value-added product features that will either enhance value, add strategic advantage, advance technically or drive revenue of the soil testing and analysis business.
• Identifies and profiles business risks and develop mitigatory plans to grow and sustain business operations.
• Ensures compliance of operational processes to all legal and regulatory requirements in the product portfolio.
• Monitors registered customer behavior with regards to choice of packages and rejection ratio and submits a monthly report to Operations Manager - AgriTech.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications and Experience
• A Degree in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Chemistry or equivalent.
• A postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
• 2 -4 years experience in soil testing or laboratory analysis of soil, fertilizers and agricultural chemicals is an added advantage.
• Good interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to interact at all levels within the organisation and with external parties
