Job Description
Takura Trust is seeking for an enthusiastic candidate to fill in the position of Quality Control Supervisor at our fresh produce Packhouse in Shurugwi
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties
1. Monitor quality specifications during the following tasks:
• Grading , sorting, and packing of produce
• Packaging of produce for shipment or further processing.
• Weighing of produce
• Measuring quality and physical characteristics of vegetables or fruits
• Labelling for identification
• Recording of % packout per delivery
2. Ensure cleaning is carried out as scheduled
3. Record required QMS records
4. On the job coaching of food safety principles and operating procedures
5. Routine pest control monitoring and recording
6. Ensure traceability
7. Inspect and check premises and personnel hygiene on a daily basis
8. Coordinate with Production Supervisor for smooth running of operations
Required Skills
• Ability to learn food safety and Globalg.a.p. principles that apply to their scope
• Ability to supervise and assign duties to subordinates
• Self-motivated
• Ability to motivate and coach and correct staff
• Hardworking
• Multitasking
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications and Experience
• Certificate in Food Science /Agriculture or related
• Farm related experience
• Working knowledge of basic Food Safety systems i.e HACCP
• Computer literacy
