Job Description
Job Purpose
Cassava Smartech is looking for a qualified and competent Quality Assurance Tester to join its Systems Development Team. The major responsibility of the role is the development and execution of software test plans in order to identify software problems and their causes on business systems applications
Duties and Responsibilities
• Plans test schedules in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
• Develops standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness
• Plans test schedules for SITs, UATs, QATs and PIRs
• Develops testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability.
• Documents software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers.
• Identifies program deviance from standards, and suggest modifications to ensure compliance.
• Installs, maintains, or uses software testing programs.
• Monitors program performance to ensure efficient and problem-free operations.
• Participates in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
• Performs initial debugging procedures by reviewing configuration files, logs, or code pieces to determine breakdown source.
• Provides feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability and functionality.
• Tests system modifications to prepare for implementation
• Reviews software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, or to mitigate risks.
• Ensures system functionality and performance is in line with BRS and FSD [meets requirements and specifications]
• Ensures adoption of requirement focused testing and business process focused testing
• Implements testing techniques which include but not limited to black box, white box, smoke test, unit test, integration tests, regression test, interface test.
• Provides mobile application testing for native, web and hybrid apps
• Provides Mobile application testing for IOS, android and windows based operating systems
Qualifications and Experience
• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Knowledge of at least one Systems development methodology, and a testing methodology.
• Extensive knowledge of testing tools i.e. load testing tools, functionality test tools.
• 2-4 years’ work experience in a related environment;
• Must have a sound knowledge of mobile money, VAS technology, payment services and platforms.
