Job Description

We are looking for a vibrant and dynamic individual to fill the above position.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for managing the reputation of the organisation through planned publicity campaigns and strategies aimed at building and sustaining a good corporate image in line with the company’s core values. The Public Affairs and Media Relations Specialist will also be responsible for all communications, public relations, and public affairs in the organization and monitoring the public and media's opinion of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
The incumbent’s key responsibilities shall include but not limited to: -
• Development and implementation of a comprehensive organisation’s Public Affairs and Media Relations Strategy.
• Continuously building and maintaining a positive brand image for the organisation.
• Monitoring corporate image frequently and ensuring its alignment with company brand.
• Planning or directing the development of the organisation’s Programs to maintain favorable Public and Shareholder views of the organization's Agenda and Accomplishments.
• Coaching Senior Managers and Marketing Representatives of Strategic Business Units (SBUs) and Head Office, in effective communication with Key Stakeholders.
• Developing advertising communication material for the organisation.
• Designing and reviewing a variety of promotional materials.
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with all the organisation’s Key Media Stakeholders.
• Fielding Media questions and pitching stories to the Media, preparing media kits, and organizing Press Conferences.
• Writing Press Releases and other media communications on behalf of the organisation.
• Coordinating preparations and launch programmes for the organisation.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
• A professional qualification in Public Relations or Mass Communication or related qualification is an added advantage.
• Experience in managing media relations (online, broadcast and print).
• Experience with PR campaigns and media management.

• Background in researching, writing, and editing publications.
