Job Description

The project Vaccination Coordinator will provide technical and programmatic oversite for the vaccination campaign supported by ZACH in the selected districts of the two provinces of Mashonaland West (Hurungwe, Sanyati, Makonde, Chegutu, Zvimba) and Midlands (Kwekwe, Gweru, Gokwe North, Gokwe South). The coordinator will work under the guidance of the MoHCC technical supervisor at national level and the Program Manager at ZACH. Responsibilities will include facilitating high level collaboration with all key implementing partners in this project. The coordinator will work with provincial and district health teams to facilitate smooth implementation of the project from vaccine supply, storage, cold chain maintenance, actual vaccination, management and reporting of adverse events, support and supervision and quality reporting of program data. The coordinator should be fully trained in routine and emergency policies and procedures. This individual will be the primary contact regarding vaccinations in two provinces of the country.

Duties and Responsibilities

 High level planning and coordinating COVID-19 static and outreach vaccine administration activities in the supported districts
 Reviews and update the Vaccine Management Plan as needed
 Overseeing emergency preparations as per SOP
 Oversee coordination to ensure vaccine availability, adherence to cold chain and adverse event monitoring systems
 Manage the program COVID-19 resources for the organization within the implementing provinces and districts
 Oversee the use of organizational resources within the COVID-19 program in line with project policies, the grant agreement, and in compliance with the MoHCC, ZACH, AMREF, and Africa CDC rules and regulations as applicable
 Manage data-driven recruitment, orientation, deployment, and performance management of all HRH resources, e.g., locum nurses for COVID-19 vaccination activities
 Submit timely requests and acquittals for resources in line with financial management policies and other relevant SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to support program implementation
 Supervision and coordination of ZACH hired and MoHCC vaccination staff
 Support capacity building for project and implementation staff on Covid-19 and Covid-19 vaccination and maintain staff training and competency records
 High level collaboration with other Implementing partners (MoHCC, Red-Cross, UZ etc.) to ensure synchronization of activities like demand creation and social mobilization etc.
 Analyze programmatic data with the M&E officer and give feedback to relevant stakeholders
 Compile and submit routine quality program reports to relevant stakeholders
 Participate in national COVID-19 meetings and TWGs
 Represent ZACH at international, national, provincial, and district Covid-19 vaccination related forums
 Timely identification of challenges and mitigation to improve program performance

Qualifications and Experience

 Basic Nursing Diploma/Degree or any relevant medical qualification
 Current registration with relevant professional bodies (e.g., Nurses Council of Zimbabwe etc.)
 Post-basic qualification in community health, public health, project management, health services administration or similar will be an added advantage
 At least 3 years' experience working in Emergency preparedness and response programs
 An understanding of the MOHCC structures and pillars in COVID-19 response and other epidemic prone diseases is essential
 Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project Planning, Outlook)
