WWF Zimbabwe seeks to recruit a proficient, energetic and motivated individual to take up this exciting position based at our Harare office.

The Role:
The incumbent will support delivery of WWF Zimbabwe’s Conservation Strategy through effective implementation of Climate Change Adaptation activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Main Responsibilities:
• The project officer will lead activities related to climate change adaptation, with a particular focus on communities and ecosystems
• Lead community outreach and data collection from communities using the WWF Climate Crowd methodology to learn how changes in weather and climate have affected local communities and their livelihoods, how they have responded to climate challenges, and the impact of their responses on nature.
• Identifies landscapes and target communities to work with in designing new initiatives.
• Based on key learnings and community consultations, develops systemic approaches and strategic interventions that can help build resilience to climate change.
• Develops, plans and implements oversight of new and ongoing field projects and grants Develops and maintains content for project websites and social media platforms.
• Up to 50% of time may be spent in the field, with regional travel as needed for meetings and workshops.
• Promotes and coordinates climate change work in WWF Zimbabwe’s focal landscapes.
• Provides leadership and serves as the WWF Zimbabwe’s focal point on climate change and engages relevant government departments and other partners to promote climate change work in Zimbabwe
Qualifications and Experience
What you need:
Qualifications and experience
University degree in related field such as conservation, climate change or environmental science. More than 2 years of work experience in climate change and adaptation, conservation and development programs. Experience with categorizing and analysing large amounts of data.
Required Skills and Competencies
The ability to communicate effectively, with strong interpersonal skills in a multicultural environment. High ethical standards of behavior, good judgment and attention to detail; Energetic, proactive and capable of working independently as well as meet deadlines and commitments. Identifies and aligns with the core values of the WWF organization: Courage, Integrity, Respect & Collaboration.
