Job Description

Duty Station: Tongogara Refugee Settlement, Chipinge
Contract Type: Fixed-Term
Community Organization for Poverty Alleviation in Zimbabwe (COPAZ), a local Private Voluntary
Organization is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Logistics and Project Officer pending
confirmation of funding.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Implementation
 Develop and implement detailed work plans which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully
complete the project.
 Facilitate the identification, selection and registration of targeted adolescents and youths for the project and maintain
a project database.
 Facilitate the daily implementation of project activities.
Capacity building, Mentoring and Technical Support
 Organize and conduct Youth Empowerment trainings particularly in youth empowerment and livelihoods and value
addition.
 Facilitate the provision of start-up kits and IGA Resources to young people in the project
 Provide mentorship, couching and support to adolescents and young people in the personal skills development,
Entrepreneurship and Livelihoods
 Advise and assist young people in business development, product marketing and business records
 Supervise Youth livelihood groups and directly monitor sales of products and usage of petty- cash by young people in
the project
Product and service Marketing
 Conduct market research and facilitate the marketing of project products for young people in Entrepreneurship and
IGAs
 Conduct monthly regular meetings with Entrepreneurship and IGA groups and stakeholders to discuss successes,
challenges and wayward
Documentation, monitoring and Reporting
 Keeping and updating all project records (Beneficiary lists, attendance registers and sheets, waybills, distribution
contracts, asset distribution lists, Distribution Reports, Livelihood group constitutions, minutes of livelihood group
meetings, daily cash records) and ensure that the correct quantities, excesses and lost quantities (if any) are recorded
in the waybills.
 Document day to day project activities and identify possible gaps and challenges and recommendations for future
possible improvement.
 Document stories of change, best practices, case studies and learnings for reporting and evaluation purposes
 Report on any safety and security incidents and wrongdoing/safeguarding issues
 Coordinate and compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual field reports including stories of change for submission
to the Programmes Manager
Networking and coordination with local stakeholders
 Represent COPAZ in community and cluster meetings in Tongogara Refugee Settlement.
 Liaise with relevant local authorities and development partners in the Settlement in project related issues.
 Sensitise the relevant stakeholders on the project
 Any additional tasks assigned by the Programmes Manager

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience
 A degree in Agriculture, Project Management or related field
 A Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence a must
 Computer proficiency in Ms Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other packages
 Minimum of 3 years of experience in development/humanitarian work
 Experience with sustainable livelihoods and food security programs
 Knowledge of income generating activities (IGAs), small and micro enterprises (SMEs), agricultural and livestock
production marketing and value chains interventions.
 Experience with international donors and/or other international organizations an added advantage.
