Project Officer - Community Based Inclusive Development: Christian Blind Mission (CBM)

Background
Christian Blind Mission (CBM) is an International Christian Development organization committed to improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities in the poorest communities of the world and is committed to keeping adults and children safe. The organization seeks to recruit a suitably qualified Project Officer who will support the implementation of CBID projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

The tasks and responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Lead and support the implementation of the Community Based Inclusive Development projects in the country Office; Coordinate with other stakeholders in CBID and humanitarian work in advancing and promoting best practices; Provide coordination, technical and capacity building support to partners in ensuring effective, timely and accountable programming; Support partner organizations, Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs)and Civil Society Organisations to implement activities following an inclusive approach; Actively contribute to concept papers, proposal writing and partner identification; Ensure effective representation of CBM in relevant technical forums and task forces, with donors and other key stakeholders; Conduct regular visits to project sites to monitor the implementation of activities, gather feedback from stakeholders and submit detailed report about the findings; Assist in tracking project performance, monitor and follow up on project activities; Support the Country Programmes Manager to prepare periodic project reports based on accurate and evidence-based data/information; Track project indicators and outcome of activities and ensure projects achieve set targets; Identify and document human interest stories and case studies based on the successes of implemented projects; Coordinate with partners and other departments to prepare and implement project monitoring and evaluation plans; Process monthly, quarterly and annual reports; Budget and monitor project expenditures to ensure they are in line with CBM/donor requirements; Supports CBM communications work at country level.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications, skills and experience
At least three years of Community work experience with an international organization; Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Social Work, Development studies, Social science or other relevant discipline; Project management experience in Donor Funded Projects; Demonstrated experience in project management in an NGO/INGO is highly preferable; Experience in CBID programming an advantage; Strong knowledge on safeguarding of children and adults-at-risk; Excellent writing skills and an ability to communicate clearly and respectfully
