Based at our Harare office, you will report to the Co-Founder and work with the Data Lead and Tech Lead. You will improve the paths from registration to a useful contribution, and from searching to finding a relevant recommendation. Development priorities will be guided by contribution quality, repeat participation and evidence from experiments.
• Define analytics events, conversion funnels and data-quality checks for onboarding, usable recommendations, successful searches and referral activation.
• Analyse contributor and user cohorts to measure repeat contributions and retention; combine event data with interviews and usability studies to investigate friction and gaps in recommendation coverage.
• Translate hypotheses into Flutter backlog items with functional acceptance criteria, experiment designs and measurable behavioural outcomes.
• Manage experiments through implementation and validation; use controlled tests and member feedback to decide which changes to retain, revise or remove.
• Coordinate API dependencies, automated testing and Android/iOS releases with the Tech Lead. Verify instrumentation and assess the effect of released changes on contribution and discovery.
• Experience applying Lean Startup methods in mobile product development, including user research, experiment design and interpretation of funnel and cohort data.
• Experience applying the Kanban method in software development.
• Working knowledge of Flutter/Dart, widgets, state management, asynchronous operations, REST APIs and authentication.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools for Flutter/Dart prototyping, debugging and test generation, with an understanding of how to review and validate generated code.
• Practical Git/GitHub skills; able to follow code changes, reproduce defects and review unit, widget and integration test results.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, mobile analytics, crash reporting and releases through TestFlight, App Store Connect and Google Play Console.
• Clear communication, sound technical judgement and a commitment to Pan African unity and collective protection.
