Job Description

Job purpose:

AMR Project Coordinator will be seconded to MoHCC to support the work of AMR Secretariat. The AMR Project Coordinator will actively participate in the delivery of the AMR NAP and the activities supported by AMR Multi Partner Trust Fund including ongoing Fleming Fund grant supported activities. He/she will contribute to implementing AMR Program on behalf of the AMR Tripartite in collaboration with Ministry of Health and Child Care, Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Environment in conjunction with other relevant local/international partnerships.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

The AMR Project Coordinator will be responsible for activities related to strengthening the capacity of AMR Secretariat in delivering on AMR NAP. Specific responsibilities may include but not limited to:

Providing technical assistance to AMR Secretariat in planning, implementing and monitoring the Zimbabwe national AMR program and reporting progress in line with MPTF/FFG project goals
Provide technical support to National AMR Secretariat in functioning of AMR governance bodies
Managing effective implementation of MPTF grant submitting consolidated narrative reports on progress, in accordance with the agreed results framework and respective indicators
Supporting national AMR coordination systems and structures, developing AMR briefings to senior One Health team, local tripartite organizations and MPTF Secretariat
Where appropriate representing the MPTF fund in discussions with development partners
Advising the AMR Secretariat and One Health staff on all aspects of the AMR MPTF, including on policy, strategy, monitoring and compliance.
Conducting quality improvement interventions including supportive supervision and monitoring of activities progress, providing onsite coaching and mentoring to enhance AMR implementation across the One Health spectrum including AMR project sites.
Contributing to strengthening Monitoring and Evaluation capability of Zimbabwe for reporting on AMR activities
Liaising with the Tripartite Joint Secretariat and AMR MPTF Secretariat on fund administration issues, including issues related to project fund extensions and closures.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications

Required: A degree in health sciences.
Desirable: Master’s degree in either Public Health/Epidemiology, Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Environment/Ecology, Food Science etc. or related discipline
Experience

Required: At least 4 years of experience in the health /animal/ecological/environment health sector with experience in AMR/AMU interventions and technical assistance.
Desirable: Experience of AMR and One Health Interventions in Zimbabwe or Southern African context; previous work experience with similar projects, with international agencies.
Skills and Competencies

Strong coordination, communication, and interpersonal aptitudes; Ability to communicate and liaise with stakeholders.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a multi-dimensional environment interacting with political and technical leadership.
Proficiency in MS office
Analytical skills and report writing.
Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the ethical issues associated in working with people with diverse religious, ethical beliefs and cultural backgrounds
Language

Required: Good communication of English
