Christian Blind Mission International (CBMI) is an International disability inclusive development NGO which works in co-operation with local partners in complementing government’s development agenda. Inclusive recruitment of staff is a priority for the organisation which seeks to promote meaningful inclusion of persons with disabilities in all aspects of our work. The organization seeks to recruit a Project Assistant to support the programmes department within CBM Zimbabwe Country Office.

Duties and Responsibilities

Job description
Supports the implementation Inclusive Eye Health projects; Promote the engagement of organisations of people with disabilities in project planning, monitoring and implementation, institutions, advocacy strategy development and implementation; Support administrative duties within the Inclusive Eye Health Portfolio including procurement of equipment, consumable s and other items; Work closely with the Ministry of Health and Child Care and other; Support the development of concept papers and project proposals; Document human interest stories or case studies from projects; Track project indicators and outcomes and ensure assigned projects achieve set targets; Assist in reviewing project reports, narrative, financial and statistical submitted by partners; Support the implementation of CBM standardised quality assurance processes and tools; Conduct other duties as assigned by the Programme Officer.

Qualifications and Experience

Desired qualifications skills and competencies
Degree in Social Studies / Development Studies/ Social Work; At least two years of professional experience in disability / public health; Strong knowledge of disability inclusive programming, disability rights and education in emergencies programming; Solid training and facilitation skills; Good communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to work under pressure and deliver under tight deadlines; Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility and drive for results in the field of disability inclusion; Knowledge in safeguarding of children and adults at risk is an added advantage; Proficiency in using Office 365.
