Job Description

CeSHHAR Zimbabwe is an organisation that specialises in population health research and programming, including on sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS. CeSHHAR has an extensive national, regional, and international academic and community partnership network. CeSHHAR has a diverse range of funders which include the Wellcome Trust, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, United States NIH, UK Medical Research Council, Templeton World Charity Foundation, USAID, Global Fund for AIDS TB and Malaria, UNICEF and UNFPA. We partner very closely with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (UK), Zimbabwe's Ministry of Health and Childcare and international and regional centres of research excellence to evaluate national programmes and determine the impact, uptake, and cost effectiveness of novel reproductive health interventions. The Programme Officer will provide technical and administrative support to the Key Populations programme and its sub-awardees, fostering collaboration to strengthen organizational capacity, program performance and great compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between CeSHHAR and the assigned sub-awardee,
• ensuring effective communication and collaboration
• Support the drafting of SOPs, job aides and high-quality reports
• Maintain comprehensive records of support activities and outcomes.
• Prepare monthly reports on progress, successes, challenges, and outcomes of
• implemented action plans
• Facilitate collaborative learning opportunities between the sub-awardees and
• CeSHHAR, and other learning resources as appropriate.
• Support the implementation of action plans to address identified gaps.
• Review and facilitate approvals for budgets, implementation requests, and work
• plans
• Conduct field visits, report challenges, and provide feedback to improve program
• implementation.
• Support monitoring of grant performance, identifying gaps, and coordinating with
• technical teams for support.
• Conduct regular assessments of financial and programmatic reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Support compliance with internal policies and donor requirements.
• Ensure adherence to CeSHHAR Safeguarding Policies in all activities
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in social science or a related field, Minimum of 3 years of experience preferably within the NGO sector, Experience working with key populations in HIV programmes, Good interpersonal skills, Excellent communications skills, Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and ability to translate data into action, Computer literate – Good in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, Proficiency in using online platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or similar for virtual meetings and training sessions.
