: The incumbent should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising, resource mobilisation and stakeholder relationship management in the non-profit sector, establishing long lasting partnerships or collaborations with strategic partners including funders. They should be capable of managing existing funding and collaborative relationships, as well as establishing and nurturing new relationships at the local level, nationally, regionally and internationally.
• Develop and/or execute the fundraising or resource mobilization strategy in line with the organisation’s strategic plan.
• Manage and grow the funding portfolio, maintaining a fundraising database.
• Conceptualise and design new programs and new initiatives in collaboration with
• relevant members of the team.
• In close collaboration with the Deputy Director and the programme leads, contribute to the development of funding proposals.
• With support from the communications team, develop relevant media, visibility or marketing materials in line with the fundraising or resource mobilisation strategy.
• Monitor and report regularly on the progress on fundraising for the organisation, including updates on how relationships are being managed and forged.
• Liaise with project stakeholders to gather input and feedback into activity planning and implementation, with careful consideration for equity, diversity and inclusion of potentially marginalised groups such as women and youth.
• Regularly engage and communicate with funding partners to explore new funding relationships, as guided by management.
• Ensure proactively sharing of information related to activity implementation with the Communications Officer and guiding their publications and social media data/information before posting publicly.
• Coordinate direct communication, information or data requests related to fundraising.
• Identify and develop strategic partnerships for successful fundraising for programmes
• Minimum 3 years of experience fundingraising for big projects above a million dollars, interacting with funding partners that include embassies, foundations and other funding agencies.
• Relevant degree or equivalent programming experience in skilled in social sciences, humanities, or development with a minimum of a relevant first degree preferably with experience in fundraising or resource mobilisation. A master’s degree is an added advantage.
• Prior experience in an organisation focused on environmental governance is an advantage.
• Fluency in English, both verbal and written, is required

• Proven track record in producing winning bids and proposals for institutional donors, corporations, and others.
• Proven ability to design or produce high quality proposal documentation, including the development of multi-million-dollar project budgets and supporting documents.
• Excellent coordination, facilitation, organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels and pull together input from programme leads.
• Adaptive: Ability to adapt to and work effectively on complex issues in a fast-paced environment, working under pressure, managing competing priorities and maintaining a professional approach to fundraising.

• Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills in a range of contexts and with actors from the private sector, government and civil society, with an ability to work with both senior and junior officials/stakeholders, enthusiastically, and interested in learning within a political, changing and diverse work environment that requires constant adaptation.
