Position Summary
The Program Officer will support the direct services department and will work closely with the shelters. S/he will play an active role in implementing various programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Job Description
The Program Officer will prepare, update and implement project work plans and review progress monthly with input from members of the team; The incumbent ensures that shelter responses evolve according to the changing nature of the situation, progressively working towards more durable solutions; Promote participatory approaches in the program, community and beneficiaries’ participation; Monitor all shelter activities and ensure compliance with strategies and guidance provided and agreed; Prepare regular narrative reports on expenditures in collaboration with Finance department to track spending and take corrective action if necessary; Implement various community programs and stakeholder engagements.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Social Sciences, Humanities or Communications. At least 2 years’ experience in GBV programming, with a specific focus on direct service provision ;Demonstrable experience and achievements working in case management; Ability to quickly understand and absorb new topics, issues and disciplines; Excellent command of written and spoken English
