Program Facilitator – MFA Education and SRHR/SGBV Funded Project

Location – Bulawayo Program Area

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Program Facilitator takes a lead technical role in the implementation of the SRHR project in the target districts covering Bulilima District under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland (MFA) Project. The Program Facilitator represents Plan at district, provincial stakeholder forums/networks, consultative sessions, or conferences on child protection, adolescent SRHR and gender based violence.

Duties and Responsibilities

Accountabilities:
• Leads planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating of the SRHR project results.
• Identifies and supports the trainings of project beneficiaries and stakeholders (including community – volunteers – and health workers, teachers, caregivers, and adolescents and young people) on CSE, Disability Inclusion, MHM, SRHR/GBV and child protection.
• Supports joint mobile SRHR and SGBV outreach services for adolescents and young people by strengthening service offering partner organizations, raising awareness on SRHR and risk of SGBV for adolescents with disabilities particularly girls
• Integrate child safeguarding and gender equality and inclusion considerations within project activities at district level
• Facilitates community dialogues and awareness activities to address harmful social and cultural norms as well as community level trainings.
• Liaises with and supports community volunteers, including Community Health Workers to ensure SGBV survivors access time sensitive response services, in line with existing protocols and standards.
Child Protection & gender equality mainstreaming
• Promotes and abides by Plan policies and procedures including but not limited to: Gender equality mainstreaming, Safeguarding Policy; Code of Conduct and the related mandatory reporting responsibilities.
Coordination and networking
• Participates in, develop and strengthen collaborative relationships at district levels in child rights to enhance Plan’s program performance
• Supports and participates in district children and youth related partnership activities, alliances and networks
Monitoring and Evaluation
• Supports collection and analysis of project data
• Assists the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning Department to update and maintain project database

Qualifications and Experience

Knowledge:
• A degree in social sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institute
• A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience at a similar level in gender, child rights and/or adolescent programming
• Understanding of social norms and their influence on behavior, attitudes and practices
• Demonstrated capacity in monitoring and evaluation
• Knowledge of programming issues, trends, challenges and opportunities and implications to community development
• A Class 3 or 4 Driver’s licence
• Ability and willingness to ride a motorbike
• Knowledge of the local language
