About
Opportunities have arisen within a local NGO working nationally to empower adolescent girls and young women in Zimbabwe socially, economically and psychologically through the use of targeted interventions such as Girls Rights Clubs, Skills Trainings and Health Promotion initiatives. The organization is looking for volunteers under the age of 30 to participate in this opportunity, which provides exposure and experience in the NGO sector and an opportunity to deepen their knowledge and skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties
Duties include assisting with planning and coordination of programs and their activities; Work to keep programs on schedule, within stated budgets and functioning smoothly; Ability to organize and support implementation of activities in the assigned operational areas; Support beneficiary’s identification and selection processes together with relevant community and leadership structures; Make field arrangements for planned visits to project locations.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications
Qualification in Social Sciences, Health, Social work, Development, Gender, International Development or a related field; Excellent communication skills and organizational skills; Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and requirements; Professional ability to handle sensitive information and ability to respect the confidentiality of such information; Fluency in English is a must and ability to speak in Shona and is an asset; Proficient in computers and Microsoft packages; A clean class 4 driver’s license.
